Golden Bay based writer, Gerard Hindmarsh, reflects back on his 37 years of international journalism, much of that time spent travelling around Asia and the Pacific. Pivotal moments, sad and humorous ones too, an engaging look back over a career involving millions of miles of travel.
Gerard's award-winning travel work has appeared in a variety of publicationS both in NZ and overseas, and he served for many years as National Radio's Asian correspondent on Kim Hill's Nine to Noon show. Around 2000, his focus moved more towards the Pacific, and he undertook numerous contracts writing up development projects for UNESCO's Cultural Office in Apia. His long-running Outsiders radio show on Radio Live attracted a bevy of loyal listeners, and he still does a regular column, Out West, for Stuff.
