Barron Flat follows a historic pack track in the backcountry of the Kahurangi National Park. Connecting the Flora carpark with The Barron Flat in Upper Takaka, the track offers a range of technical, single-track and cross-country riding experiences suitable for those with intermediate skills.

Beginning at Flora Carpark, the track heads downhill past the hut toward the Flora stream, before following the route of the Takaka River bank and ascending steadily to the Grecian Saddle. From here, riders will traverse varied terrain, including boggy creeks and dirt tracks before meeting the undulating landscape of the Barron Flat.

How to get there: The track begins at the Flora Carpark, which can be found at the end of Graham Valley Road. It is also possible to begin your journey from the Barron Flat end, and park your vehicle adjacent to the Waitui Stream.
