The Cable Bay Adventure Park is home to a network of extraordinary mountain-biking and cycling trails, with plenty more on the horizon.

There is a selection to suit most preferences and riding abilities from digger built, flowy grade 3’s to high-speed, open downhills with plenty of airtime and of course, nestled amongst giant pungas and mighty natives are the long, natural and raw grade 4’s.

Riders can revel in a diverse array of spectacular scenery, tearing up the tracks under the canopy of lush native bush before cruising out to Bayview to take in elevated views of Cable Bay – the site of New Zealand’s first overseas cable link with Australia in the 1870’s.

You can bring your own bike or secure an MTB, e-bike or kids rental for the day from the Adventure Park. They also offer an on-demand shuttle uplift service (prices vary depending on trails chosen), so that you can spend more time enjoying the park and less time climbing the hills.

How to get there: The Cable Bay Adventure Park is located just a short distance from Nelson City on the way to Hira, turning off SH6 when you reach Cable Bay Road.
