Leave the crowds behind and see the highlights of the Abel Tasman Coastline.

We are the smallest sea kayak company in the park and the only company based inside the national park boundaries. Owner/operator Josh Smaill is in his fifth season guiding from Awaroa and knows the northern end of the Abel Tasman Coastline like the back of his hand. High quality half day guided sea kayak trips based from Awaroa Bay run on a daily basis through the summer months (October - April).

With the Tonga Island Marine Reserve and Awaroa Lagoon both right on our doorstep, we're spoilt for paddling options and can run great trips in most conditions. We have spectacular coastline and great wildlife viewing opportunities with some of the most important seal breeding colonies, loads of stingrays and awesome bird life. Awaroa has a unique history as one of the major human settlements along the coastline for both māori and the European settlers.

Most of our clients stay in Awaroa the night before the trip. Accommodation options include Awaroa Lodge, Awaroa Glamping and the Awaroa DoC hut and campsite nestled on the banks of the lagoon. If you're walking the track this is a good option to break up the trip and give the legs a rest.

Coming on a trip with us is a great way to learn about the national park and kayak in what is considered a more remote and exposed part of the coastline where we tend to see lower boat traffic and visitor numbers than the southern end of the park. We also offer a stand up paddle board rental option which is best used early in the morning. Get in touch and we can help plan your trip to make the most of your Abel Tasman experience.
