Bill Burke is one of Nelson City's better-known full-time artists. His charming gallery, situated along the banks of the picturesque Maitai River by the Collingwood Street bridge, displays his pastel and oil paintings.
Bill Burke Gallery is open most days. It is next to the very popular Little Dove Café. Bill works in oils and pastels, capturing the local landscape inspired by golden sands, azure waters, maritime activity, and iconic Nelson landmarks. He has also produced some stunning large oil paintings of garden scenes and the Central Otago landscape. His most recent paintings are always displayed in the front window.
