Create your chosen Trouser using easy to use production patterns (supplied and ready to use) For example: select from either Lounge Pants, Wide Leg Trousers or a pair of Trackies to make and leave with the finished garment.
Cut, sew, and finish your garment with 'easy cheat' production techniques. Guided step by step, you will learn to use the production patterns for a simplified sewing process. Choosing your style and creating your one-off!
An easy / loose fitting style, there will be various pattern sizes to choose from to ensure all are accomodated. Fit tweaks will be made if required eg, if needed, slightly shorter in length. Uniqueness celebrated.
This workshop encourages the use of existing fabric, for example: garments, duvet covers, old jeans, sourced fabrics, dressing gowns or fabric from you or your friends existing fabric stash to upcycle / recycle into something new and 'boutique' / 'one-off' for your self or another.
Suitable for all skill levels, including beginners. For more advanced sewers you have the option of adding pockets, etc to your style. The different styling options, combined with individual fabric selection, will ensure no garment is created the same.
Have fun in this relaxed setting with like minded creatives and leave this workshop wearing your new 'boutique and one-off, unique to you, style!
NOTE: Patterns are supplied. Students can either supply their own fabric or use fabric donated by Textile ResQ (Whakatū, Nelson with a Koha to Hospice requested) This is a first in, first choice scenario. Ngā mihi nui Textile ResQ).
