Arts Council Nelson is proud to present RAW 2025. A group show featuring work by self taught artists.

RAW aims to showcase works:

- created by people who have no formal or traditional art training

- that express individuality and inventiveness 

- that are ‘RAW’ – uncooked by cultural and artistic influences


It is very important for cultural enrichment of communities that there are opportunities provided to artists that may not fit into a traditional, academic or commercial gallery context. That we can provide such an opportunity in a national exhibition that celebrates the diverse talents of this group of artists whose work is often thought of as ‘naive’ or a little bit edgy is a source of great pride for Arts Council Nelson as well as the for the artists themselves.
