Our Film Festival is now in it's 3rd year of celebrating international films.
We showcase short films as well as feature films from all over the world. Many of these are multi-award winning films from all categories. These include drama, arthouse, experimental, sci-fi, thriller, comedy, animation, music video and others. One of the film that premiered at our festival qualified for the Oscars.
So join us for an exhilarating cinema event.
The screening at the State cinema consists of 2 films. The first one is a short documentary "Pedals to Power" about two adventurous women undertake the challenge of a lifetime as they embark to cycle to all the ski fields in Aotearoa New Zealand in just one short snow season. Battling storms whilst pushing their bodies to their limits, they discover the country’s grassroots ski culture and independent club fields.
The second film is an award winning feature film from Denmark "Vincent- A Story Of Supernatural Friendship"
"Vincent is a beautifully shot and emotionally resonant movie that explores the universality of loneliness and the unexpected ways in which we find connection. Mikkel Vadsholt delivers an outstanding performance, and David Noel Bourke’s use of lighting and cinematography gives the story a quiet, haunting beauty. " Loud & Clear Reviews
