Lumière – An Extravaganza of Music and Light is an experience like no other, combining the massive musical forces of the King of Instruments with a thrilling light show. Presented as the final concert in the Nelson Organ Festival, talented young kiwi organist, Jeremy Woodside, performs an exhilarating solo recital against the stunning backdrop of Nelson Cathedral’s soaring architecture. Light show projections designed by Nelson based artist Klaasz Breukel (This Is Them) will accompany Jeremy’s programme of glorious music to create an awe-inspiring atmosphere. The Cathedral's magnificent Lewis organ is set amongst intricate stonework and beautifully crafted stained-glass windows, making it a perfect spot for the added excitement of a light art installation.

Jeremy Woodside was born in Christchurch, New Zealand. He has held organ scholarships at Wells Cathedral and Westminster Abbey and has directed and accompanied many choral societies and choirs. Jeremy regularly performs with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, both as a soloist, choir accompanist, and orchestral player. He is an active composer with various pieces being published by the RSCM, SOUNZ and Crescendo Music Publications in Melbourne, Australia, is the Director of Music at Knox Church in Christchurch, and works with Toi Toi Opera and Showbiz Christchurch.

Light Jockey Klaasz Breukel, originally from fast-paced Amsterdam, but based in laid-back Nelson, New Zealand since 2009 loves creating colorful, strong visuals that communicate cleverly with the viewer. With a prime focus on branding design, campaign concepts, projections and image mapping, Klaasz is a keen video performance artist and has been providing live visuals at numerous national and international gigs and festivals. Klaas enjoys initiating art projects and is passionate about visual communication and graphic design.

These two artists come together for one night only to present this stunning new show made specially for Nelson, a true extravaganza of music and light.
