Harakeke (NZ Flax) is the most enduring of all New Zealand native plants, a natural resource and easily accessible.
From plant to product, in this workshop you will learn the skills of weaving with Harakeke (NZ Flax).
The next development is weaving with colours and patterns.
During this intensive 3 day workshop you will learn how to create a pattern using colour, placement and different weaves. You will start with the leaf of Harakeke and finish with a Kete Whakairo.
Dyeing of the flax fibres is included.
