Date Me Darling is a series of private, thoughtfully curated date nights for couples who want to slow down and get away from the distractions of the world. Set inside the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary, each experience is designed to help you switch off, be in the moment and enjoy time with your favourite human.

These date nights take place in the evening, after the sanctuary has closed to the public. And with only a handful of couples hosted each night, you’ll have almost the entire sanctuary to yourselves. Just you, your person and the bees and the birds.

Hidden deep among towering native beech trees, this is our most private and intimate date night location… the one you choose when you want the world to fall away. Eight minutes from the Sanctuary hub (and a lifetime from your inbox), you’ll wander just far enough to feel deliciously hidden. No foot traffic. No interruptions. Just you, your favourite human, and the quiet hum of the forest settling in for the evening.

Here, you’ll sink into a nest of blankets and pillows on a fully decked clearing beneath a canopy of trees. Fairy lights flicker. Candles glow. Nelson’s finest local produce waits on a platter chosen just for you. Somewhere nearby, the river murmurs softly and as dusk arrives, the birds take centre stage.

There’s no cell reception here and that’s entirely the point. With games, thoughtful conversation prompts and nothing to rush you along, the Beech Glade invites you to slow down, be present and connect on a deeper level. It’s romantic, exclusive and beautifully unhurried. Just you, your favourite human and the sanctuary at a time of day very few get to experience.
