Curious about collage but never picked up the scissors? This hands-on workshop is the perfect place to begin.
Led by collage artist and poetic instigator Rowan Taigel of Guerrilla Poetry, this hands-on workshop welcomes participants aged 10–100 to explore collage as a playful and accessible art form. Using found imagery, text, and texture, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind A3 artwork that tells a story, captures a mood, or simply looks exactly how it wants to look.
Collage is art without the fear factor.
There’s no blank-page panic and no drawing skills required — just curiosity, scissors, and permission to experiment. Rowan will introduce a range of collage styles and simple composition techniques before guiding you to trust your instincts and make something uniquely your own.
This workshop is perfect for curious beginners, experienced makers, creative kids, and thoughtful adults alike. Clear demonstrations, inspiring examples, and optional prompts ensure everyone can work at their own pace and confidence level in a relaxed, welcoming environment where there’s no such thing as doing it “wrong”.
You’ll work on quality A3 art paper with access to retro books, vintage magazines, rich visual materials, scissors, glue, and — if you’re feeling bold — optional vintage typewriters for adding text.
No experience needed.
Bring your curiosity. Cut boldly. Let the scraps lead the way.
Additional fees may apply.
