
SCHOOL HOLIDAY ART PROGRAMME
Students (8 - 12 years old) will fully immerse in creating for a week, experiencing life as an artist! At the end of the week – a garden party exhibition will showcase creations, giving students a ‘from start to finish’ ‘living as an artist’ experience!
Using the Queens Gardens as inspiration, students will develop various artistic skills. Sketching and painting will be used as research tools. Composition, perspective, tone and colour embraced. The real and the imagination combined. Three-Dimensional forms created.
Nature revealed, discovered and celebrated in a process that encourages artistic ‘license’, while being planet friendly throughout.
Embracing the whakatauki ‘Manaaki whenua, Manaaki taangata, Haere whakamua’ ‘Care for the land, care for the people, so we may go forward’
The focus is on fun techniques to develop creativity and artistic skills
Students work will be showcased in the final exhibition / garden themed tea party
Tea Party / Final exhibition: 2 - 3pm Friday 16th January
