The Regional Business Partner Network (RBPN) is a Government funded network of business advisors supporting local businesses to grow, innovate, and connect. The Nelson Regional Development Agency (NRDA) is proud to deliver the Regional Business Partner Programme across Te Tauihu on behalf of MBIE.

Our team of advisors provides independent business advice, access to funding opportunities, practical resources, and valuable connections across local and national support networks. We work alongside businesses at every stage of their journey, helping strengthen both individual organisations and our wider regional business community.

NRDA has supported more than 4,000 local businesses, from many of our leading exporters and early stage deep tech startups through to aspiring entrepreneurs with a great idea. Management Capability Development Funding

This MBIE funding is aimed at helping business owners and/or senior managers with a subsidy towards management training and can help local companies to access third party expertise via an approved workshop/coaching/training course to build and improve management capability in specific business areas. The fund subsidises up to 50% of the cost of management training, up to $5,000 per year (excluding GST).

To arrange a meeting or contact us

  1. Register your business via the RBP website
    Your RBP registration will come to us. Then, one of our local Advisors will initiate contact with you to arrange a follow up meeting / discovery session.  

  2. After your discovery session, our Advisor will come back to you with an action plan which is aligned to your business goals. This can include a mix of things such as funding, independent advice, tools & resources, connections, R&D support, and commercialisation support.

  3. Our Advisor will be your new business champion and we will regularly check-in with you to ensure you are making progress.
