Onetahuti Beach

  • Abel Tasman National Park
  • Beaches & Bays

Offering stunning views out to Tonga Island in the midst of the marine reserve, Onetahuti is a tranquil oasis. The gentle curve of the crescent shaped beach and its densely forested backdrop is gradually revealed as you approach from the south along the Abel Tasman Coast Track.

Onetahuti is the kind of beach you won’t want to leave – equally as beautiful as the seascapes at either end of the park, but slightly more secluded. A beachside campsite is the perfect place to set up for the night – awaken to an extraordinary sunrise from your tent overlooking the ocean, before spending the morning relaxing in the bay. Those that are continuing on the Abel Tasman Coast Track to Awaroa can follow a beautiful wooden boardwalk at the northern end of the beach.
