ZineFest Nelson is a one-day celebration of self-publishing, free speech, and creativity, returning to Founders Heritage Park on Saturday 10 October, 10am–4pm. Funded by Nelson City Council's Arts and Heritage Grant, the free event brings together zinesters from Golden Bay, Motueka, Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough, and further afield in New Zealand for a celebration of inspiration and creative expression.
This year's festival aims to feature 30 zine makers, building on the success of Nelson's inaugural ZineFest in 2024, which drew 200 visitors despite heavy rain. Come along to browse, buy, and get inspired by the region's thriving DIY publishing scene — and bring cash, as most zinesters are independent creators rather than big businesses, so card payment isn't always an option.
