“AI has gone from novelty to everywhere in about three years. In this free evening talk, tech investor Serge van Dam takes a plain-talking look at what that means for Nelson: where AI is genuinely useful right now, the risks worth paying attention to, and how to get started without being technical. He’ll also build a working website live on stage in about two minutes. No AI experience needed and everyone is welcome. Hosted by the Nelson AI Sandbox. Cash bar available.”

Nelson Function Centre, Nelson Golf Course (38 Bolt Rd, Tāhunanui), Thu 29 Oct 7-9 pm. Free, bookings via Humanitix.
