Schools are invited to enter teams in the Top of the South Interschools Chess Championship, the official regional qualifier for the NZCF National Interschool Finals, held at Nelson College.

Open to Primary, Intermediate and Secondary school students (including home-schooled students of the same age) from Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough.

Schools can register teams of 4–7 players. Teams compete in a Team Swiss format over 6 rounds with 15-minute rapid time controls. The top 4 scoring players per team contribute to the team result.

Prizes include trophies, medals and certificates, plus awards for best male and female players.
Winning teams qualify for the NZCF National Interschool Finals on 26–27 September.
Early bird registration is $13 per student (paid before 5 June) or $17 thereafter.
Register teams on Tornelo by Wednesday 10 June.
