Ashly Gray, London-based textile expert and gallery owner, will introduce us to Post War Textile Visionaries of Modern Art. Covering 50 years of textile design, this lecture looks in brief at the leading makers, designers and artists of the period from the 1920s to the 1970s, when the evolution of textile design was a critical catalyst in democratising Modern Art. Internationally renowned artists were commissioned for textiles that brought Modernism into the home and onto the street in a blaze of colour that revitalised the post war world.
