The Journey of a Nomad – from Mt Everest to Mt Cook

Kalsang Tashi is a Tibetan Buddhist scholar with extensive monastic and academic training in Buddhist philosophy, literature, and languages. Tashi is an experienced teacher, translator, and public speaker with over a decade of engagement in universities, Dharma centres, and international conferences.

Join us as we hear Tashi's fascinating story of his migration from the land of Mt Everest to the land of Mt Cook. This will be followed by 10 minutes of guided breathing exercises and gentle little movements for a healthy body and happy mind using Tashi's traditional training and his own life experience.

Welcoming Week runs from 4-13 September 2026 and brings communities across Aotearoa New Zealand together to celebrate inclusion, connection, and belonging.
