Introducing Sukalati Beats…an innovative and fresh new trio emerging on the Nelson scene. Blending the rich elements of soul with contemporary R+B, hip hop and electronic influences, Sukalati Beats draw on the likes of Nu Soul heavyweights, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and D’Angelo as well as the bass-driven sounds of 90s Trip Hop.

Sukalati Beats features the smooth and soulful vocals of Dayna Sanerivi, jazz influenced keys and synth work of Charlie Bladon and deep hip hop and soul driven basslines courtesy of Fraser Campbell. With a focus on live performance, Sukalati Beats bring a fresh and innovative approach to the scene through programmed beats, samples and live instrumentation. Largely driven by the technical expertise of Charlie, the focus on sound production and programming adds a level of electronic sophistication reminiscent of the likes of 90s sounds of Portishead, Massive Attack and Tricky.

Despite being fresh faces on the scene as a band, don’t be fooled—-members of Sukalati Beats are seasoned performers, boasting decades of experience in jazz, soul, rock, function and corporate bands. Performances feature an expertly curated mix of covers and original music that will leave you feeling uplifted.
