Green Drinks has teamed up with the Aotearoa Plastic Pollution Alliance who are holding the annual hui in Whakatū, Nelson.

We'll start the evening by hearing from Dr Helena Ruffell: The waste in your waste. Dr Helena Ruffell is an environmental scientist and plastic pollution researcher. Her research has focused on sources of microplastics to the environment through different types of municipal waste. Helena will share insights of her research investigating wastewater, biosolids, and compost for microplastics, with plenty of pretty microplastic pictures, and importantly how we can take action against microplastic pollution!

We will then take a break and enjoy pizza together (vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options will be available), followed by a special screening of 'The Plastic Detox'. The film follows six couples struggling with infertility who embark on a 90-day journey to eliminate plastics and related toxins from their homes.

- Let's eat pizza - 6.00 - 6.30pm
- The Plastic Detox begins: 6.30pm - 8.00pm (1.5hrs)
