We are kicking off the Nelson Jazz Winter Festival in style with a night of big‑band brilliance and dance‑floor fun.
The Nelson Jazz Club Big Band will get to the stage with bold brass, swinging rhythms, and classic tunes that warm the winter air, while a pre‑show dance lesson that gets everyone moving — from total beginners to seasoned dancers.

Jon and Jane (former Nelson Ceroc dance teachers) will provide a dance lesson to give you confidence to partner dance. They teach a fusion of dance styles (modern jive, swing, WCS, tango, rock n roll), so it is easy for everyone to dance together.
No dance partner or previous experience is required - just wear well-fitting shoes with a smooth, non-grip sole that allow you to pivot easily. No dance partner or previous experience is required

The Boathouse will have a limited menu for the evening, so come down early for dinner or a snack, and enjoy a bevvy.
