Mohua/Golden Bay

3poets
one dream and some words
The word is the beginning of all things; the word echoes in three days of silence; the word is scrawled in the dust on the ground. Neal Bonner, Àine Barton and Mark Raffills are three Golden Bay poets who carve the words of one dream on the blackboard hearts and concrete walls of people, places and possibilities.
Àine Barton’s spoken-word performances offer an anchored urgency for the times we live in; her emerging voice grows in confidence while staying firmly rooted in the belief and innocence of youth.
Mark Raffill’s uncluttered and unpretentious delivery makes the most of some striking words. The live poet is obvious, and his words have both a lyrical and rhythmic quality.
Neal Bonner draws from his deep well of prose poems as he weaves his words around the steel strings of his guitar and creates a strong and resonant tapestry of word-song.
