Michael Richard Brown came out of England in 1959 as a young child to the wide skies of Australia. After much disappointment, his family fled to New Zealand.

Struggling through school, jobs came and went and then love caught him mid-fall.

Raw, reflective and deeply human, this memoir traces the winding path of a boy aching to matter – to someone, somewhere, somehow. It is not a story of triumph. It is a story of trying.
