International concert pianist Roman Rudnytsky returns to Nelson for the Kia Kaha for Ukraine Fundraising Concert, joined by Nelson’s own Maestros: violinist Margarita Jackson, pianist Kyoko Takashima, and Cathedral organist Paul Chan. Together, they present a programme of classical and Ukrainian-inspired music, blending international artistry with the richness of Nelson’s vibrant musical community.
Roman Rudnytsky has enjoyed an extraordinary career as a solo recitalist, orchestral soloist, and cultural ambassador, performing in 100 countries worldwide and on nearly 80 Cunard and P&O (UK) cruises. Known for his expressive interpretations and captivating stage presence, his repertoire spans classical masterworks and engaging contemporary works—reflecting both virtuosity and deep musical insight.
Born in New York City to a distinguished Ukrainian musical family, Roman carries forward the artistic legacy of his parents: Antin Rudnytsky, a composer, conductor, and director, and Maria Sokil, an internationally celebrated soprano. His performances combine dazzling piano mastery with thoughtful storytelling drawn from a lifetime of global concertizing.
The Kia Kaha for Ukraine Fundraising Concert celebrates unity, artistry, and compassion—an inspiring night where music becomes an act of solidarity.
