Originally from Japan, Akiko has studied traditional calligraphy since the age of five and attained Master Calligrapher status in 2004. A familiar face to many in the community, she has inspired people across Aotearoa through her passion and enjoyed sharing this beautiful art form. She brings a warm, encouraging teaching style that welcomes beginners and those with some experience alikesive flow that gives each character its beauty and meaning. Create your own piece to take home and experience the mindful rhythm of ink on paper.
No experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and willingness to give it a go.
