GULAAN at WAA Club – Live in Concert (Nelson)

Buenavista Entertainment presents an intimate evening with GULAAN, the acclaimed Kanak singer-songwriter and guitarist from Maré Island, New Caledonia.

Returning to Nelson after a memorable visit in 2025, GULAAN brings his powerful guitar and voice performance, creating a unique atmosphere where the simplicity of acoustic music allows the stories of the Pacific to shine.

During his time in Nelson last year, he wrote and recorded the song “Tren Kore Kenereken”, inspired by his island of Maré and the deep cultural connections that link the Pacific.
Singing in French and Nengone (the language of Maré), his music carries the spirit of his homeland, where land, ocean and memory are deeply intertwined. Through melody and storytelling, GULAAN invites audiences into a musical journey where Kanak and Māori worlds recognise each other through song.

With a career spanning more than 30 years, GULAAN (Edouard Wamejo) has released 15 albums and nearly 200 original songs. His distinctive guitar style and artistry gained international attention when he appeared on The Voice France (2018), where all four judges turned their chairs.
