From Grass to Genomics: The Evolution of a Golden Bay Dairy Farm

What does a modern dairy farm really look like? Join Golden Bay farmer Corrigan Sowman for an illustrated look at how technology, science and environmental stewardship are reshaping NZ dairy farming for the future.

Corrigan Sowman brings both a local farmer's perspective and experience in the governance of NZ's dairy sector, giving him a unique view of how innovation is changing farming on the ground. Corrigan is a third-generation Golden bay dairy farmer at Uruwhenua Farms and currently serves as Chair of LIC, NZ's dairy genetics cooperative. He holds a degree from Massey University and is a graduate of both the Kellogg Rural Leadership Programme and the Nuffield Farming Scholarship, experiences that have allowed him to study farming systems and agricultural innovation in NZ and internationally. His interests lie in bringing together science, technology, people and practical farming to improve environmental performance, animal welfare and the long-term resilience of NZ agriculture.
