Foundational Clay Pottery Hand-Building

This course, inspired by foundational hand-building classes, is ideal for both beginners and those seeking to refine their skills.

Under Tanja's guidance, experienced participants can build on their knowledge, while newcomers learn three basic clay techniques: pinching, coiling, and slapping. Each week focuses on a different method, offering ample practice time and introducing various local clays. The course culminates in gaining basic hand-building skills for personal creations.

Firing and glazing of pieces are included, though drying time is required. Embrace the therapeutic, hands-on experience in a serene setting, and dress accordingly to manage potential clay stains. No prior experience is necessary.

Limited to 10 participants (adults and children, 10 years plus). 75 per person for 4 weeks of classes, and bisque firing of your work. Bookings close Wednesday, 4th February at 2pm.

This workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja (at education@riverside.org.nz) for workshop questions or to ask about sponsorship options.
