2027 NZ Zephyr National Championships Presented by Dawson & Associates Maritime Law

71st National Championship for the Zephyr – New Zealand’s iconic single-handed centreboard dinghy designed by Des Townson in 1956. Known for its classic lines, strict one-design rules and highly competitive fleet that regularly attracts 50+ boats, the class draws top sailors of all ages from across the country.

Expect strong competition from current and past national champions, Olympic pathway sailors, high-performance yachties and dedicated masters competitors racing in the stunning waters of Tasman Bay.

Racing will take place on the open waters of Te Tai O Aorere / Tasman Bay. The best viewing from ashore will be as the fleet transits between the Nelson Yacht Club and the racing area. This is conditions dependent, but typically between 12 and 1pm and between 4 and 5pm each day.
