Clay Candle Houses: Pottery Workshop for 2

This is a great beginner-level pottery workshop for two friends, a couple, an adult and a child or even two work colleagues - exploring a new tactile craft that you may not have had the opportunity to experience.

Making clay candle houses is a fun and grounding experience that has a calming effect on the mind and body. It is an excellent way to inspire creativity and connect with each other. Through this workshop, participants can begin their pottery journey and prepare for the winter solstice festivities.

During the workshop, participants will engage in 100% hands-on activities; please dress accordingly, as it can potentially get a bit messy. The candle houses will not be fired, which means that they can be taken home right away. However, keep in mind that the unfired work is relatively fragile and needs to be handled with care. We recommend bringing a small wooden board or a plate.

Limited to 6 adult-child pairs. Sponsorships available (just ask). Bookings essential and close on Wednesday, 10th June at 2pm.

This workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja (at education@riverside.org.nz) for any workshop questions or to discuss sponsorship options.
