This session includes an introduction to polyvagal theory and the nervous system — what the vagus nerve is, how the body can shift between states of activation, shutdown and ease, and why this matters for our sleep, mood, relationships and ability to cope with everyday challenges.
We will explore simple, practical polyvagal-informed tools, including conscious movement, accessible breathing and mindfulness practices. These can be practised from a chair or standing and easily integrated into daily life.
These practices may be supportive for experiences such as anxiety, stress, anger, low mood, overwhelm, fatigue, tension, feelings of disconnection and difficulty settling or relaxing.
The aim is not to eliminate stress, but to develop greater awareness and practical skills to help support balance, resilience and wellbeing in everyday life.
No previous experience is needed. All practices will be accessible and adaptable to suit different abilities and circumstances.
