After a kids-and-families workshop, we’re now offering a relaxed, welcoming class for adults to learn basic bookbinding. Try it: it’s creative, satisfying, and you’ll leave proud of a handmade book.
Make a small notebook, personal diary, recipe book, sketchbook, or bind sheet music — whatever you prefer. You’ll learn several approachable techniques, including saddle stitch and Japanese stab binding, plus other simple methods, using a mix of colourful and plain papers.
The session is fully hands-on, tidy, and all materials are provided. If you have special papers, photos, or covers you’d like to use, bring them along to personalise your project.
This workshop will take place in the Komitimiti Café.
Limited to 12 participants, 16 years and up. Bookings are essential and close Wednesday, 17th June at 2pm. For more information and to book your spot: https://www.riverside.org.nz/event-details/basic-bookbinding
