Soil scientist, Dr Iain Campbell made 17 visits to Antarctica over a 35 year period and has recently published the book Secrets from the Antarctic Dry Valleys. Illustrated with over 220 photographs, the book illustrates characteristics of the three main dry valleys and gives examples of the many strange and unique features to be found within this ancient, arid and frigid landscape. The book outlines how, with unlimited time, wind, scarce amounts of water and humans have left their imprint in this fascinating polar environment.
