1647 Takaka Hill Highway, Tasman
The Tākaka Hill via ferrata is one of the most unique mountain climbing experiences in New Zealand.

Tours operate daily from Motueka and are typically 6 to 6.5 hours return. Transport is provided to the summit car park where guides provide the necessary equipment. The tour starts with some skill training then a short forest walk to the to the start of the first via ferrata route. The climb is exciting and challenging with spectacular views to Kahurangi National Park, Golden Bay, and Tasman Bay. There are two via ferrata routes on Tākaka Hill. We climb the Grade C Cliff Traverse Route first where we build confidence. Next we climb the more challenging Grade D Cliff Conqueror Route. Get photos on the skybench and at summit. There is plenty of exciting climbing but also time to learn about the local history and environment.
