Quartz Clearing is 2.5 hours drive from Nelson and 30 minutes from Collingwood in the stunning Golden Bay region of the South Island. Set in a secluded spot next to a rocky-bottomed stream, the campsite is made up of three unique little buildings.
An elevated hut contains a queen bed with french doors looking out to the stream and bush beyond. The small log cabin a few steps away has a kitchen, lounging area and secondary sleeping space in the loft. A third hut houses a semi-outdoor bathroom with a toilet, shower and basin. Quartz Clearing is named for the Quartz Range. A beautiful mountain range is visible to the east of the site. To the West, are stunning views of the Whakaramarama Range in the Kahurangi National Park. The property is bush-clad - covered in New Zealand native podocarp forest. Birds abound - with weka, kereru, bellbird, tui, and morepork/ruru as your friendly neighbours.
