At The Bench, we specialize in having fun. Come and make a bespoke piece of jewellery in a day, or spend longer with us and learn more, it’s infectious.

The Bench offers a range of classes from half day earring making, full day ring making, through to 20-hour courses and specialized tuition. If you have some experience and are travelling through Whakatū you might like to rent a bench for a day or more, we offer that too. Check out our website to keep ahead of upcoming courses.
Opened in 2024 by Kay van Dyk, our well-equipped workshop is in the middle of the city, surrounded by great cafes and bars. Come and be immersed in the ancient techniques of jewellery making and walk away with a piece hand crafted by yours truly.
