The Tahunanui Waterfront (also known as Rocks Road and Wakefield Quay) is a place with a unique story to tell, and cyclists can indulge in delicious food, spectacular scenery and local history when they follow this coastal route into the city centre.

Along the waterfront, iconic landmarks including Fifeshire Rock, Haulashore Island and the Boulder Bank can be seen, whilst sculptures and murals add character and colour to the seaside landscape. You’ll find memorials and statutes to commemorate early Nelson settlers, as well as character buildings that used to house some of the region’s first power plants, hotels and even one that is placed on the site of the old saltwater baths.
