Mount Richmond Forest Park

The park stretches across several regions, covering most of the steep, forested mountains between Nelson and Blenheim. It also has some areas with commercial pine plantations on public land.

It offers outstanding views over the Waimea Plans, toward Kahurangi and Abel Tasman National Parks, and to the rugged hills of South Marlborough and the Inland Kaikoura Ranges.

Ben Nevis Track

The Ben Nevis Track climbs through forest, tussock, and rocky crags to a 1619 m summit with sweeping views over Tasman Bay and Red Hill. It’s a challenging alpine tramp with no water sources, so come prepared and expect rapidly changing conditions.
