A community-based arts hub that brings people together through music, art, and storytelling.

It creates space for people from Nelson’s former refugee and migrant communities to share their stories through creative programmes, hands-on workshops, and welcoming events. At its heart, it is about building understanding and genuine connection, helping locals and visitors alike deepen their appreciation for the cultural diversity that shapes our region and Aotearoa New Zealand as a whole.

Part of Tuku's 2023 Film Exhibition. This film explores the themes of connection and belonging with particular reference to living in Whakatū Nelson. Each of the 23 participants has been asked a couple of questions on this topic, and their answers have been filmed and beautifully pieced together into this film.
