Moving to Nelson Tasman

Housing

Housing

Whether you’re buying or renting, you’ll be able to choose from different types of housing to suit your lifestyle, from city apartments to family homes and lifestyle properties.

If you’re buying a home, your money will go a lot further than in other large centres. The median house price in Nelson is $518,000 compared to $865,000 in Auckland and $680,000 in Wellington. Nelson is also in the top three of only 7 regions that have increased housing inventory in the last year. Nelson rental costs also remain at the lower end of the scale in comparison with the larger centres.

You can search for homes to buy or rent at trademe.co.nz or realestate.co.nz. If you are looking to house-share with others, you can search for flatmates at trademe.co.nz and nzflatmates.co.nz.
