Kaiteriteri & Marahau
Two beautiful stepping-off points for the Abel Tasman National Park, Kaiteriteri and Marahau are popular destinations in their own right.
Marahau and Kaiteriteri offer a range of accommodation options, including motels, lodges, and a motor camp. They’re perfect places to sit back, relax, and enjoy our stunning natural landscape of golden sand beaches and blue-green waters.
You can swim, explore the Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park and the Great Taste Trail, and taste fresh, local produce at local cafes and restaurants.
Both Kaiteriteri and Marahau are well connected to the national park. Many water taxis, larger boats, and sea kayak companies depart from here to take you into the park itself. You can also walk from Marahau itself as the Abel Tasman Coastal Track starts there.
If you’re using the beach at Marahau please use the walkway provided. Marahau’s main swimming beach is privately owned and this area is considered sacred by local Maori.
