Regular Cook Strait ferries provide vehicle and passenger access between Wellington in the North Island and Picton in the South Island.
Interislander has been linking the North and South islands for well over 50 years and has up to 10 sailings a day – with a super peak timetable running over the Christmas and New Year period.
There are seven crossings per day between Wellington and Picton on Bluebridge from Sunday to Friday and five on Saturdays.
Regular coach services connect Nelson and the inter-island ferry services at Picton.
