Wallace Shield Cross-Country Race 3, 12 April 2025.

Race three of a fun, family-friendly, three event series of 5km cross country for runners and 3.4km for walkers, held at Moturoa / Rabbit Island.

Meet at the “Old Domain” lower Picnic Area. Registration is from 1.30pm, race briefing 2.20pm, race start 2.30pm.

Adult & high school runners: 5k (3 laps)
Walkers: 3.4k (2 laps)
Juniors (Intermediate/primary/pre-school) runners: Choice of 1 lap (1.7k), 2 laps or 3 laps.

Everyone and all abilities are welcome.

This event is a handicap race based on times from race 2.
The slowest competitors start first at 2:30pm with the next competitors going at intervals until finally the fastest competitor starts and tries their best to catch up! The winner is first across the line.

Points are awarded at each event and members of Waimea Harriers compete for the coveted Wallace Shield.

The previous events in the series were on 29th March and 5th April.

Join the club for $40 individual or $60 couple/family. Children & youth students can join the club for free.
