Axel Downard-Wilke is a transport engineer and planner, and the founder of Christchurch-based consultancy ViaStrada. He also happens to be one of NZ's four Wikipedia Administrators. In the course of his editorial work for Wikipedia he comes across many fascinating facts and stories. One of these was about the selection of Wellington as the capital of NZ ... by three Australians! How this came about, and why Collingwood was one of the contenders are just some of the details in a complicated piece of history about which most New Zealanders know nothing. Axel will be giving an illustrated presentation, with question time to follow.
