Great Taste Trail Leisure Weekend

On day 1 cycle just 26 km from Nelson to Mapua along the scenic coastal wetlands of the Waimea Plain. Along the way stop for wine or beer tastings, delicious fresh berry icecreams, cheese tastings, perhaps catch them blowing glass at Hoglunds Art Glass, lunch at a vineyard restaurant or maybe swim at a pristine white sand beach at Rabbit Island, before you cross on the cycle ferry to Mapua. Here more wine & beer tasting opportunities await as well as excellent restaurants. Stay at a lovely B&B. Day 2 head out into the Moutere for your fill of wine tastings, historic buildings including New Zealand's oldest pub which is a freehouse, art studios & vineyard cafes then return to Mapua. Nelson Cycle Hire will transfer you back to Nelson.
